15 THING'S NOT TO DO IN YOUR GARDEN

              
  1. DON'T water your plants in the heat of the day (when the sun is shining) cloudy days are alright to water. Early morning or late in the day. When they are in the shade. The very best time to water is when it's raining!
  2. Don't transplant in the heat of the day. Hour or two before dark works good.
  3. Don't let the grass & weeds grow up, this will rob your plants of food. Plus make your garden look bad.
  4. Don't transplant when the ground is soaking wet & muddy. This may cause root rot.
  5. Don't use to strong of a fertilizer shorty after planting. Example triple 13-13-13 or 17-17-17 this will kill young plants!
  6. Don't let the insect's and wildlife eat up your garden.
  7. Don't water every day.
  8. Don't plant before the last frost.
  9. Don't plant cucumbers with cantaloupe or melons! This will make your melons taste like cucumbers. Separate them as far apart as possible.
  10. Try not to plant seeds before a heavy rain as they will be washed away.
  11. To avoid staking poll beans plant them next corn, after your corn is up 12in to 18in high
  12. Make sure plants are properly spaced, to avoid over crowding.
  13. Don't use old seeds when planting, fresh seeds make for a better harvest.
  14. Don't waste your harvest freeze, can, and even sell some of the extra.
  15. Above all do not give up on your garden! Learn from your mistakes and others. A garden will save you a ton of money!.
